The International Netball Federation (INF) has announced new dates for the 2020 Netball World Youth Cup tournament that was suspended.
The tournament was initially scheduled for June 2020 but was postponed due to the uncertainties brought by the Coronavirus pandemic.
On Friday, INF announced that the tournament will now take place from 1st – 19th December, 2020 as the precise start and end dates for the Championship in Fiji.
“International Netball Federation has announced the Netball youth world cup will take place during the period from 1st – 19th December 2021. The precise start and end dates of netball competitions will be confirmed in the forthcoming weeks,” the INF statement confirmed.
In June this year, the INF Board made the bold decision to determine the remaining 12 qualifying countries based on INF World Rankings.
The qualifiers for the Netball World Youth Cup 2021 will have Australia, Barbados, Cook Islands, England, Fiji, Jamaica, Malaysia, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Samoa, Scotland, Singapore, Sri Lanka, St Lucia, Wales, Tonga, plus Trinidad and Tobago.
Africa will be represented by South Africa, Malawi and Uganda who qualified through regional rankings after the cancelation of the qualifier tournament which was due to take place in July.
