FUFA Big League side Tooro United Football Club has continued to bolster their squad ahead of the 2020/2021 season.

The club has added towering midfielder Eric Akol to their armoury, signing a lengthy four-year contract.

Akol has been clubless since parting ways with regional club Heritage International where he spent the entire 2019/2020 season.

He was part of the Ndejje University team that gained promotion to the Uganda Premier League during the 2018/2019 season. He also had a brief stint at Mbale Tigers.

Akol joins other recruits in goalkeeper Ronald Waiswa, striker Denis Ojara, left back Ponsiano Ssegonja, defender Kenneth Kiyega, and midfielder Abdallah Bogere, Adrian Sserugo, Owen Kasule, Allan Sserunga Buyinzaabwe and striker Mark Nsubuga.

Tooro United was relegated to the FUFA Big League having finished at the bottom of the top flight log before the season was cut short due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Edward Golola will sit in the dugout next season and will be assisted by Moses Ddungu while Moses “Ugoboss” Oloya will handle the goalkeeping department.
