Uganda Premier League side Express Football Club has through their Head Coach Wasswa Bbosa named Enock Walusimbi as their new captain.

Walusimbi who recently joined the Red Eagles on a two-year deal previously captained his former club Bright Stars FC and will be tasked with providing exemplary leadership skills to his teammates.

Head coach Wasswa Bossa revealed that the technical team arrived at the decision after carefully scrutinizing all options.

“Enock Walusimbi has been a captain everywhere he’s played a feat that speaks volumes about his leadership qualities. The technical team therefore felt the need to select him,” Bbosa told the club website.

He replaces Disan Galiwango who Captained the six-time Uganda Premier League winners last season before his move to league holders Vipers Sports Club earlier this window.

“Lucio” will be deputised by experienced goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and youngster Desmond Kaneene as the third choice captain.

Kanene captained the Express FC Junior Team and was promoted to the senior team at the start of last season.

Last season, Express FC finished 9th on the 16-team log with 31 points from 25 matches and will be targeting a top four finish next season.
