2019/2020 Stanbic Uganda Cup Cancelled

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has cancelled the 2019/2020 Stanbic Uganda Cup tournament.

This was revealed during the weekly press conference held on Wednesday morning at the FUFA House in Mengo.

“There will be no further action of the Stanbic Uganda Cup 46th edition. FUFA and the sponsors will soon announce the sponsorship details,” read the FUFA statement.

The tournament was previously suspended in March before the round of 16 was concluded due to Covid19 pandemic.

By the time of the halt, only one round of 16 fixture (Dove FC 0-1 KCCA, Sadat Anaku) had been played.

FUFA already suggested KCCA FC that finished 2nd in the league to represent Uganda in the 2020/21 CAF Confederations Cup.

FUFA rules on Uganda Cup to determine the winner in event of Force Majeure state:

1) Where the competition due to circumstances of force majeure fails to be completed within the season, the competition winner shall be determined as follows:

a) At and before the second round (round of 32) the competition shall be declared null and void

b) At and after the Round of 16, the competition winner shall be determined by the points and goals acquired for the matches played since the round of 64.
