Defender Kawooya Completes Arua Hill Switch

The spending spree at FUFA Big League outfit Arua Hill has continued after the capture of experienced defender Mike Kawooya from Tooro United.

Kawooya has put ink to paper, bagging a two year contract that will keep him at the club until the end of 2021/2022 season.

The 30-year-old began his footballing journey began in Busia with Busia Hoima FC during the 2012/2013 Uganda Premier League season.

After a season, he joined Water FC and spent 2013/14 before switching to FUFA Big League Side Mutundwe Lions the following season. He also played for Jinja based BUL FC as well Kakamega Home Boyz in the Kenya Premier League.

He spent the 2016/2017 season at Busoga United before switching to Fortportal based club Tooro United where he served his longest football spell (2017-2020).

After joining the Leopards, Kawooya believes the club will offer him his needs to further realize his dreams.

“I was inspired by the targets of the club after reading and doing background check about the club, their ambitions were convincing and were in alignment with my dreams. I don’t have a feeling of moving backwards and I delight in contributing to promotion of a club,” Kawooya noted.

He added, “The squad looks impressive; my fellow players look determined and they are good and are willing to do their roles and I am convinced we have high chances of gaining promotion.”

He joins left back Dan Birikwalira and striker Rashid Agau as other reinforcements brought in by the Leopards.
