Four candidates have been shortlisted for the vacant goalkeepers’ coaching role at the 13-time Uganda Premier League Champions, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club.
ChimpReports understands the list of the top four nominees has former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Sadiq Wassa, Moses Oloya, Kiberu Mubarak and Yusuf Ssenyonjo.
Kiberu previously worked with St. Mary’s Kitende, Buddo SS, Express FC, Super Cubs in South Africa, Vipers Junior Team, Vipers SC, and is currently attached to Sports Club Villa.
Retired Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Wassa is also among the candidates in pole position to land the job.
Last year, he served in the same capacity at Maroons FC before he was sacked along with coach Douglas Bamweyana with five matches left to end the 2019/20 UPL season.
Moses Oloya is also another favourite candidate to land the job. Currently, he is attached to FUFA Big League side Tooro United Football Club.
He has previously worked with KCCA FC, Onduparaka FC, Water FC, The Saints, Vipers Sports Club, Maroons FC and Sports Club Victoria University.
Also, former Mbarara City, Onduparaka, and Wakiso Giants Football Club goalkeeping coach Yusuf Ssenyonjo is among the applicants.
Ssenyonjo was previously linked to reunite with Charles Livingstone Mbabazi at Mukono based Kyetume Football club.
The successful candidate will fill the void left by the departed Daniel Kiwanuka who dumped the Kasassiro Boys for Express FC ahead of next season.
Last season, KCCA FC finished 2nd on the table with 50 points and will represent Uganda in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
