Earlier this week, Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) officially unveiled Simeon Masaba as their assistant head coach on a three-year contract.

Masaba rejoined the club he previously served as a player between 2010-2014.

He was part of the team that won the Uganda Premier League title during the 2010/2011 season and finished as runners-up in the 2012/2013 season.

He also won the Uganda Cup (Kakungulu Cup) during the 2011/2012 and 2013/2014 campaigns.

After his unveiling, the former Uganda Cranes right back could not hide his excitement upon returning home and expects to show his ability as a coach.

“I feel proud, I feel great and I am excited to be home again. But still, I have to prove my worth as a coach now which I did as a player. It’s a new challenge. The target is to win everything with this beautiful club and I hope my experience will help in guiding the team and help the players with their discipline because representing URA is always a pleasure,” Masaba told the club website.

He added, “I have to show my ability as a coach and help the players deliver and play well. I achieved as a player but now I have to archive in another way as a coach”.

Besides the tax Collectors, he also played for Sports Club Villa and Police Football Club. His coaching CV boosts of stints at Onduparaka, Wakiso Giants and UPDF FC.

He joins a URA FC technical team that comprises of Sam Ssimbwa (Head Coach), Bbosa Lutalo (first assistant), Billy Kiggundu (goalkeeper coach) and Augustine Nsumba (trainer).
