The Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) has released the fixtures and prize money for the inaugural Elite T-20 Seven-day tournament.
This first edition of the League will involve the best 45 players in the country, who will get to compete against each other with two games played per day for six days before the final game on the last day.
“We are glad that National Council of Sports has also given us a go ahead to hold the tournament as long as we observe the health guidelines. The players had their mandatory Covid-19 tests done on 22nd October in Lugogo before they are all put in a bubble,” read UCA’s statement ahead of the tournament.
The tournament will comprise of three franchise teams in Royal Varsani Bucks, Mamba Challengers and Aziz Damani Scorpions.
UCA has offered prize money of Shs 3m for the winning team while the Man of Series will take home Shs. 500,000, an incentive for the teams and players to give everything in each game.
On top of the prize money, all participating players will part with a stipend from Uganda Cricket in form of a daily allowance.
