FUFA Regional League Play-offs 2020:
Final: Northern Gateway (Northern) 0-2 Calvary (West Nile)
Calvary Football Club on Saturday became the fourth and the final team to qualify for the FUFA Big League after a 2-0 victory over Northern Gateway at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Striker Kassim Talib and winger Jamil Asega scored the priceless goals as the West Nile outfit ascended to the second division.
Head Coach Ahmed Olima has attributed their qualification to the talented players who were physically and mentally prepared.
“Personally, I believe in working hard. We really worked hard in training and this victory is not as a surprise. We have a lot of talented young players. Converting the minds of these young talents to understand the benefits of football was key,” Olima said.
He added, “The players were physically and mentally prepared for the task in thy midst. We have a great work rate from the players and I salute them for this victory.”
Calvary joined Luwero United (Buganda), Gaddafi (Eastern) alongside Terrazo and Tiles (Western) as other teams that have secured FUFA Big League promotion.
