As part of regrouping and organizing their camp ahead of the upcoming national basketball league, Power Basketball club has announce termination of their sponsorship contract with Tigerhead batteries.
“This is to inform the general public that Power basketball club is no longer under the sponsorship of Tigerhead batteries,” part of the communication from the club read.
“We would hereby like to thank the management of Tigerhead Batteries for taking us through the past two years and supporting us through two exciting seasons not forgetting Zone V in Rwanda.”
The three time champions have also announced an overhaul in the management and technical department that was led by long serving coach, Bernes Ankunda
“We would also like to extend our gratitude to the management team for always dedicating their time and energy to see that our team retains its glory amidst all the challenges that team faced during the past two years,” adding that” We hereby take this opportunity to inform the public that a new Management team has been selected to run the club for the 2016 season.”
Brian Wathum takes over the reigna from Coach Ankunda who helped the club claim the FUBA titles in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
The new management will be under club president Peter Mabunda, general manager Allan Musoke and Caleb Ernest as the technical director.
“The main goal for the change is to re-evaluate the strategic direction of the club and implement a plan to produce results that reflect positively on the organization on and off the court and return to the business of winning Championships,” the message sums up.
