- KCCA FC 2-1 Uganda Hippos (U-20)
Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) rallied from behind to edge 10-man Uganda Hippos (2-1) in another practice match played on Tuesday at the MTN Omondi stadium.
Second half substitute Denis Iguma scored a reflex header and another off-season signing in Andrew Kigozi Samson were also found the back of the net for the Kasassiro Boys.
The U-20 side had taken the early lead when Raymond Derrick Onyai’s teasing delivery deflected on KCCA defender Herbert Achai and went past his own goalkeeper Ali Mwirusi for the opener.
Uganda Hippos played 87 minutes of the match with a man less after Vipers Sports Club left back Aziz Kayondo was given marching orders following his reckless tackle on KCCA defender Samuel Kato as early as the 3rd minute.
KCCA would have stretched their lead to three when vice captain Julius Poloto was fouled in the box by goalkeeper Jack Komakech.
However, Komakech dived and stretched to his right hand thwarting away Poloto’s attempt from 12 yards for a corner.
This was the second practice match between the two sides following their last week encounter that ended in a three all draw at the same venue.
However, it was the third practice game for Uganda Hippos (U-20) who recently obliterated Uganda Cubs (5-2) over the weekend.
The U-20 team is in preparation for the U-20 AFCON Zonal qualifiers championship scheduled for 23rd November to 6th December 2020 in Arusha, Tanzania.
