Uganda Cricket Cranes tour to Qatar for the T-20 Invitational tournament has been cancelled according to Uganda Cricket Association.
The five days tournament was scheduled to take place between 14th-19th December 2020 comprising of four countries in Uganda, Nepal, Malaysia and hosts Qatar.
According to UCA, hosts Qatar failed to get the necessary clearance from the government due to the global Covid-19 pandemic hence postponing the event.
The Cricket Cranes team will however, continue to train with the newly unveiled South African coach Lawrence Mahatlane as they prepare for a busy 2021.
By the time of cancellation, the earlier summoned 21-man squad was already in preparations for the tournament at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The Cricket Cranes are expected to hold their annual tour to Qatar and India in January/February next year.
