Inside Africa Cricket Academy’s Three Day Visit to Uganda

The Africa Cricket Academy (ACA) delegation is on a three day working visit to Uganda – Kampala on a fact finding mission.

The intention for the group is to find a home for a World Class Cricket Academy on the continent and Uganda is a destination of interest.

The other purpose is to look at the quality of cricket playing facilities in Uganda in order to raise them to a high performance standard.

The party is led by Former Zimbabwe Coach Stephen Mangongo together with Amos Maunga.

The team arrived in Uganda on Thursday afternoon and had a quick chat with National Council of Sports (NCS) officials in Lugogo.

Friday saw the team travel to Jinja for a visit of the cricket playing schools of Busoga College Mwiri and Jinja Senior Secondary School.

The delegation will also visit the Naguru ghetto that has produced some of the finest cricket talent and also have a training session with the national team on Saturday.

They will have a training session with the Cricket Cranes on Saturday (10am-12pm) before having a dinner with the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) board later in the evening, before leaving the country on Sunday.
