Four Ugandan distance runners will be aiming for podium finish during the Airtel Delhi Marathon men’s Field scheduled for Sunday 29th November, 2020 in India.
The Ugandans who will be competing in the 16th edition of this World Athletics Gold Label race include Stephen Kissa, Victor Kiplangat, Mathew Chekwurui, and Abel Sikowo.
Kissa and Kiplangat unlike the rest of the teammates will bank on their recent experience in the 2020 World Half Marathon Championships to improve their performances in one of the strongest half marathon contests in the World this season.
Kiplangat travels to Delhi boasting of 16th place finish and season Best time of 1:00:29, posted at the recent World Half Marathon while Kissa who crossed in 19th place will be focusing on improving 1:00:34 ran at the same event.
Both the men’s and women’s races have first prize money of USD 27,000, part of a total prize money purse (combined men and women) of USD 233,270.
This year’s edition will feature an estimated 60 elite international runners unlike the past edition as organizers follow the highest level of safety standards with bio-secure zones to ensure a COVID free race for the runners.
