Striker Brian Kalumba scored four goals as UPDF FC registered an emphatic 1-5 away victory over Uganda Premier League newbies Kitara at Kavumba recreation playground.
Another Brian in Kayanja scored the other goal for the Army side who registered a second successive victory of the 2020/2021 season with Peter Lomolo finding Kitara’s consolation.
Vipers Sports Club “reject”, Kalumba opened his account when his half volley beat goalkeeper Hillington Musoke for the opener.
Kalumba later doubled the visitors’ lead in the 10th minute off an assist from Kayanja before he eventually completed his hat-trick few minutes away from the halftime whistle.
On the stroke of halftime, Peter Lumolo pulled one back for Kitara Football Club as UPDF dominated the first stanza 3-1 going into recess.
Few minutes after restart, Kalumba completed his quadruple for the evening off another assist from Kayanja before being replaced by Robert Eseru.
Two-assist provider Kayanja also joined the goal scoring party after his distant shot left for the top left hand corner, leaving Kitara’s shot stopper Hillington Musoke helpless.
Victory took UPDF FC on six points after two games following their 3-0 win against Bright Stars in the league opener.
