• Kyetume 2-2 Soltilo Bright Stars
Kyetume came from behind twice, to hold Soltilo Bright Stars 2-2 in the Uganda Premier League early kickoff played at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Tuesday afternoon.
Bright Stars took the lead through diminutive striker Janjali Joseph who met a Marvin Musoke through ball and pocked home past goalie Derrick Were after 25 minutes.
In the 36th minute, Ezra Bida wiggled through Kyetume’s defense and brought the game level after beating goalkeeper Edward Kiwanuka Buule for the equalizer.
With five minutes away from recess, Bright Stars restored their lead when Samuel Kayongo headed home a Samson Mutyaba corner kick as the hosts trailed at halftime.
After the break, the Slaughters put the visiting stars on pressure, pressing them against the wall in the hunt for a leveller before Baker Buyala’s efforts off a Bida cross rattled the woodwork.
After 66 minutes of play, Kyetume’s long awaited moment arrived when Sharif Sakka met a loose ball in the area spilled by goalkeeper Buule Kiwanuka to tap in the rebound with ease.
The draw took Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s Kyetume to 11 points while Bright Stars count a point accumulation of 13 after match day nine.
Next for the Slaughters is an away duel against Mbarara City at Kakyeka stadium whilst Bright Stars will play host to Police at Kavumba playground on Saturday.
