Uganda Cubs national team has been placed in group A of the forthcoming U17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament scheduled for 13th – 31st March 2021 in Morocco.
The draws conducted by CAF director of competitions Samson Adamu on Wednesday, pitted Uganda Cubs against tournament hosts Morocco, Zambia and Ivory Coast.
Uganda Cubs qualified for the AFCON tournament after winning the CECAFA U17 Championship last year in December, beating Tanzania 3-1 in the finals held in Rubavu – Rwanda.
This will be the second time the Cubs feature at the AFCON U17 championship, following their maiden appearance in 2019 in Tanzania where they finished third in group A.
Meanwhile, head coach Hamza Lutalo trimmed the provisional squad to 31players who are currently holding a residential camp at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

Group B: Nigeria, Tanzania, Algeria, Congo
Group C: Cameroon, Senegal, Mali, South Africa
