KCCA FC 4-0 Kitara
A brace from a rare source in defender Peter Magambo together with strikes from anchorman Bright Anukani and super substitute Andrew Kigozi Samson were enough to guide KCCA to a 4-0 win past Kitara on Saturday.
The 13-time Uganda Premier League champions were welcoming back youngster Sadat Anaku from the sidelines after lengthy layoff and had his first game at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo this season.
KCCA drew first blood in the game through Peter Magambo who noded in a Hassan Musana’s free kick in just 11 minutes.
Musana nearly turned scorer but Kitara’s goalie Ivan Akere parried away his distant shot before punching Anukani’s stunning shot over the bar.
After the break, the hosts made two changes as Samson Kigozi and Charles Lwanga replaced midfielder Keziron Kizito and off-form forward Aheebwa Brian.
In the 49th minute, stylish attacking midfielder Anukani doubled KCCA’s lead when he met a spilled ball in his path to pounce home the rebound.
Towering center back Magambo then got himself a brace and extended KCCA’s lead to three. Magambo riffled the ball home from Musana Hassan’s inswinging corner kick on 51st minute mark.
Second half substitute Samson Kigozi put the icing on the cake following an interplay between him and second goal scorer Anukani to ensure a commanding win for the home side.
The win took KCCA FC to 17 points in the 6th position after match day 10 and will visit Busoga United FC on Tuesday in Jinja.
League newbies Kitara remains second from the bottom with just one point from as many games ahead of their home game against Express FC.
