Last season Fufa big league champions Kirinya Jinja SS FC started their topflight journey with a draw in Bugembe against URA FC.
The team wasted lots of open chances with James Otim, kiiza and Bamukyaye falling victims.
However, new coach Alex Isabirye picks the best out of the match and hopes for an improvement.
“URA came charged for the game with different game plans so for boys to pick a point was quite commendable,” Isabirye told ChimpSport.
Isabirye assumed the role barely a month ago with a task to ensure the youthful team remains in the league at the end of the season. Despite creating numerous chances against URA, the team couldn’t convert.
“Generally we played well putting in mind the fact that I have worked with the boys for less than a month,” he added.
“However, there is no excuse for not winning but now looking forward to prepare the boys for the next fixture which is a derby. I believe we shall be ready for them.”
During his unveiling, the team manager Mr. Bwire Osodo expressed a lot of optimism in the coach and set the bar high for him to finish in the top five.
The ‘school boys’ make a short trip across town on Tuesday 23rd August to face bitter rivals JMC Hippos at Kakindu stadium.
