Amavubi stars newly appointed interim coach Gilbert Kanyankole Yaounde has named a squad of 26 players for the upcoming 2017 AFCON qualifier match against Ghana away on September 3rd.
Kanyankole was given the interim mantle to succeed Irishman John Mckinstry who was axed last week due to poor performance.
Rwanda goes into the last match day with nothing really to fight for apart from pride and FIFA rankings where they currently lie on 121. They have accumulated six points, seven below the next hosts who already qualified.
The Amavubi crushed out following a shock 3-2 defeat on June 4th at home against Mozambique.
The situation further led for the dismissal of coach Mckinstry and Kanyankole’s appointment. He will be assisted by ex-internationals Eric Nshimiyimana and Jimmy Mulisa.
All summoned players are expected to regroup on Wednesday morning at the La Palisse Hotel Nyandungu and later head for first training session.
