Vipers SC new signings Tony Odur, Ibrahim Kayiwa and Miss Esenu were all on the mark on Tuesday evening as the Kitende side humbled Police FC at Nakivubo in the Uganda Premier League.

The league giants endured a tough match day one, sharing spoils with minnows Bright Stars.

Odur ushered the onslaught converting Brian Kakaire’s well curled cross just 15 minutes after kick off. Musa Esenu came close twelve minutes later but lost his ground in a one on one with the keeper.

Kayiwa doubled the lead with a clinical 42nd minute finish off an Odur cross. The former Express mid fielder had initiated a counter attack from the venom’s half before laying down to Odur.

Odur made the situation worse for the cops with a third just at the death of first half.

“I try to do what I’m best at, helping my team-mates, creating chances and scoring goals,” he told club media after the game. “I’m happy for the team. We are becoming better and better. It’s a good start.”

Musa Esenu completed the rout thirteen minutes to time connecting another cross from captain Nicholas Wadada.

Coach Mubiru hailed the performance of his boys saying they were good enough to deserve the juicy victory.

“We won comfortably and the result could have been bigger. It’s a natural evolution, step by step. It’s impossible to demand more from the boys. It’s a great spirit with everyone working really hard.”

Vipers next match is On 6th September away to URA FC while Police host Proline at Kavumba.
