
Uganda Revenue Authority FC’ management has terminated the services of assistant coach Livingston Mbabazi on disciplinary matters.
The club announced the development in a statement to the press on Thursday afternoon.
“Mbabazi Charles’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect by the URA Football Club following his gross misconduct and absenteeism from the team’s trainings, matches and other official events on several junctures,” the statement partly reads.
The statement further added that, “Mbabazi has appeared and written apologies to the URA FC Board, with the latest being on August 08th 2016.”
“On this date, he appeared to the Club Board for his misconduct and absenteeism. He promised to change or the club terminates his contract.”
Mbabazi joined URA FC on February 15th 2016 replacing Kefa Kisala who was elevated to Head coach, during his time as assistant coach, the Club has won 20 league points from 13 matches (5wins, 5Draws and 3Loses).
He has previously taken charge of Bright stars FC, Big League side Masavu FC and the Somalia national team last year where he was reportedly axed for similar acts of dodging training and heavy drinking.
Mbabazi has formerly played for local giants KCCA FC and SC Villa together with Irish giants St. Patricks
The tax collectors have not enjoyed the best start to their season recording two consecutive draws in two matches away to Kirinya Jinja SS FC (0-0) and a one all at home against BUL FC.
