It was a replica of the 2011 AFCON qualifiers game at Namboole on Tuesday as Uganda Cranes were held to a goalless draw by Kenya’s Harambee stars.
Unlike in 2011 where the hosts were playing their do or die game that they needed to win in order to qualify for the AFCON finals, this time round it was only a friendly game with nothing much to fight for but only meant to test and strengthen of both sides as they prepare for their last games in the previous groups.

It was not such a busy day for both goal keepers but the visitors presented more threat to the goal than the Cranes.
Kenya who dominated most of the second half, however had nothing to show in terms of goals at the end of the dull game at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole Tuesday evening.
There was no love lost between the 2 East African teams
Despite changes by the Cranes Serbian tactician Milutin Micho Sredjovic after recess that saw midfield maestro Tony Mawejje, Kizito Luwagga, Farouk Miya, Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Uganda Premier League’s MVP Joseph Ochaya come in Geoffrey Massa, Yunus Ssentamu and Emmanuel Okwi nothing much changed on the already dull game.

Uganda will on Sunday play their final group D do or die match against Comoros at Namboole whereas their East African counterparts will travel to Lusaka in a bid to honor their group E game of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.
