Express head coach Alex Gitta admitted his side were wasteful in front of goal in the game against newly promoted side Onduparaka in the game played at Muteesa II stadium, Wankuluku on Tuesday.
Gitta believes his team created several chances but they were not clinical enough in the final third.
“We lacked precision in the final third and accuracy in the numerous chances we got,” said Gitta.
“In general, we lost concentration after getting the lead yet we had a number of chances to kill off the game. Our opponents then gained momentum and we got penalized,” he added.
The Red eagles had eight shots on target but managed to put to use one with John Ssemazi scoring in the 46th minute before the visitors levelled matters 14 minutes later through Rashid Toha.
Herman Wasswa, Allan Kyambadde, John Ssemazi were all culprits for failing to utilise the numerous chances.
However, Gitta is optimistic the team will improve in their next games.
“We shall work on the few mistakes we had today before our next game and I hope for a better performance,” stated Gitta.
Express currently lie 4th on the table with five points and will play against The Saints in their next game on Saturday.
