Wcup 2018: Museveni Boosts Cranes Financial Kitty Ahead Of Ghana

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has boosted the national team, the Uganda Cranes financial Kitty ahead of the 2018 world cup qualifiers against Ghana.

The message was delivered by the Fufa President Eng. Moses Magogo on Saturday afternoon.

“HE the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has extended financial support of 660 million UGX to the preparations of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier away match against Ghana in Tamale scheduled for 7th October 2016,” Magogo posted on his social media accounts.

The Cranes are scheduled to play Togo on Tuesday 4th in an international build up friendly and thereafter head to Ghana for the group E opener scheduled for Sunday 9th.

Magogo also revealed that the money will cater for head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s salary arrears for the next three months.

“The President has required me to deliver a message to the Team and the Coaches that they should represent thier country to the pride of Ugandans and he is fully behind us.”

The foreign based Cranes players are expected to fly directly to West Africa. Uganda is grouped alongside Congo and Egypt.

“Message was delivered by a telephone call from the Head of State to the FUFA President this morning,” an elated Magogo summarized
