Pool Championship: Nalukolongo, Jinja Representatives Revealed

Ibra Ssewari put up a spirited performance to emerge the best in the national pool qualifiers that took place at the Orange county club in Nalulolongo.

Ssewari defeated Meddie Kalanzi 5-2 to win the UGx 100,000 and therefore book the slot for the finals slated for November in Kampala.

Meddie Kalanzi also booked a place in the finals despite losing the finals and will be joined by Abdul Sekitto who finished third.

Sekitto had earlier on lost 4-2 to the eventual winner Ibra Sewari in the semi finals but went on to overcome David Bukenya 4-2 in a best of seven third place playoffs.

To reach finals, Second placed Kalanzi had beaten peter Senkyanzi in the quarters, then David Bukenya in the last four while Sewari squeezed 3-2 against Jonathan Kayongo in the last eight.

In the other qualifiers played, Ibrahim Sentamu, Simon Mutiro and Silas ‘Spino’ Mawejje completed the successful trio from Queens Palace Jinja.

The winners and runners up walk home with 100,000 and 50,000 shillings package on top of qualifications ticket.
