Proline soccer academy head coach Baker Mbowa has applauded this season’s Fufa Elite Junior league and termed ‘the best way forward’ in developing the youth structures.

“I like working with young boys and grooming their talents so am happy to see genuine kids playing at this level,” Mbowa told ChimpSports after Proline SA 1-0 loss to Sadolin Paints JT on Sunday.

Yokole Talibu scored the only goal in the 74th minute to gift the junior painters an ideal opening start to the season.

“The focus in this league shouldn’t be on winning games but nurturing the young boys into good players for the future. This is a developing program for Fifa and Fufa and can take the country’s football to a bigger stage in the year’s to come.”

“We as coaches should not focus on competition and winning the games but put emphasis to build the players. They’re just young and should be left to enjoy themselves while we incorporate professional values in them. But I can see a lot of talent to be tapped and nurtured.”

Proline Soccer Academy’s next game is on Sunday 16th October against Treble group winners KCCA SA while Sadolin travel to Naguru grounds to face Police Armless brigade.
