
The Kenya national women team, Harambee starlets have departed the country on Thursday morning for Morocco ahead of a series of friendly build ups.
The starlets recently finished as first runners up in the 2016 CECAFA women’s championship that was held at the Fufa technical centre in Njeru near Jinja.
Head coach David Ouma summoned about 24 players for the friendlies lined up with five of them new faces from the team that played in Uganda. They include midfielders Pauline Amutebi, Bertha Omita, Esther Nyandika (defender), Lilian Awuor (GK) and one striker Janet Bundi Moraa.
The team is using the tour to prepare for the upcoming Africa women cup of nations to be played in Cameroon from November 19th to December 3rd 2016. They have been pooled in group B alongside defending champions Nigeria, Mali and Ghana.
