Cranes left winger Godfrey Walusimbi returned to Gormahia starting lineup with a second half goal as the team was pegged to a two all draw on Wednesday by Western Stima in a Kenya Premier League match.

The defending champions came into the game in search of an outright victory to cut down the seven point gap with leaders Tusker FC but their opponents had different ideas altogether.

Western Stima’s Herbert Kopany struck the opener just at the death of first half connecting down a fine cross from Otieno.

Gormahia pulled level through Kenyan international Erick Agwanda who slotted in from the spot. Earlier on Rwandan midfielder Jacques Tuyisenge had been brought down in the box.

Walusimbi raised hope for the Kogalo hopefuls with a strike fifteen minutes from time off Innocent Wafula’s good work.

The green army were unable to protect their lead leaking in just at the 90th minute through Bernard Ondeki’s header.

The draw leaves Gormahia six points behind Coach Paul Nkata’s Tusker with only four games left. The KPL resumes on Saturday with Tusker facing relegation bound Nairobi City Stars while Gormahia play AFC Leopards in the Nairobi derby.
