
After dumping out arc rivals at the quarter final stage, Makerere University will have another hurdle to make after the draws pitted them against Kampala University.
In the semifinal draws held at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo in Kampala,Makerere University will take on Kampala University in this year’s University football league tournament.
Both teams have won the championship previously with Makerere University winning the inaugural edition in 2012 while Kampala University followed suit clinching the second edition.
According to the organizing Secretariat, last year’s finalists Uganda Martyr’s University Nkozi and Makerere University who reached the semifinals were seeded and put in a different pot while Kamapla University and Nkumba University completed the semifinal slots falling in pot 2.
Douglas Bamyeyana, Makerere University head coach said he is ready to take on Kampala University and his aim is to see that they win the title this year.
“It has been a fair draw and at this stage you expect to meet anyone. Kampala University are a good team but we are prepared to go past them and reach our target of winning the title this season,” said Bamyeyana.
In the other semifinal, Nkumba University take on last year’s finalists Uganda Martyr’s University who are under the stewardship of Joseph Ssekandi.
The semifinals will start on 2nd November with Nkumba hosting Uganda Martyrs University in Entebbe while Kampala University will host Makerere University at Villa park Nsambya on 3rd Nov before returns legs a week later.
The final will be played on 19tn November.
