Black Stars assistant captain, Andrew Ayew is returning to the team after missing the barren draw with Uganda last month due to injury.

Ghana are heading for a tough showdown against the Pharaohs of Egypt in the second game in the road to Russia 2018 world cup on Saturday.

“We are bracing ourselves for a tough game obviously,” Ayew said.

“This is a very important game but it’s not the decider. What is important is that we go and play our game and leave Egypt with something.”

Ayew takes over the Black Stars armband in the absence of skipper Asamoah Gyan who has been ruled out because of injury.

Italian giants Juventus also advised against summoning influential midfielder Kwadoh Asamoah.

“We have the players and quality to succeed because Ghana is the best team in the continent. Everyone who was called is in camp and are going to give all our best.”

The two nations last met in 2014 world cup qualifiers where Ghana whitewashed Egypt 6-1 at home before losing 2-1 in Cairo.

“The last time we played Egypt was a world cup qualifier and we know they will take this game with some feelings.”

The match will be played on Sunday at the 70,000 seater Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria.

“This is the last game before Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and means we have to end our year with a good result.”

Ghana, Egypt and Uganda also share same group in the Afcon finals that kick off mid-January in Gabon.
