
Ugandan kick boxer Sharif Bukenya lived to his words after overcoming his opponent in a non-title bought organised by brass events.
Bukenya, alias “War Child” defeated Kenya’s Francis Plots Okoth in a non-title fight played at the MTN Arena,Lugogo on Friday.
Dubbed the Total impakt night, the event began with several undercards before Bukenya and Okoth took to the ring.
Uganda’s Muhammad Lukwago defeated Kenya’s Martin Levi by knockout while Mzei Muhammed defeated Musisi Ssentamu in some of the undercard games.
Kiyingi Mark also a Uganda also defeated Martin Achebe from Kenya by knockout after three tumbles in two rounds.
In the the main fight, Bukenya who had earlier promised to crush his Kenyan counterpart did exactly as he anticipated winning the bout by the second round.
Playing in the low kick style that prohibits elbows and knees Bukenya won by a technical knockout after Okoth sustained an injury on his ankle and decided to pull out.
The war child walked away with Ushs. 5 million shillings while Okoth got 3.4million shillings.
