Just a few months in charge at the Fufa Women Elite League club, Olila High school football team, head coach John Ongodia has resigned.

Ongodia who joined the Soroti based side at the start of this season cited intervention in his duties as head coach by management as the reason as to why he quit.

“I stepped down because we had different ideas with the team management. They wanted to do my work,” he said in an interview with ChimpSport.

“They wanted to have influence in making lineups and very many technical decisions which are in my circle as a coach,” he added.

Ongodia thus indicated he could not carry on any more with the club management and decided to throw in the towel.

“I am a qualified coach, so you do not expect me to work under such conditions, therefore I opted to leave the job,” added Ongodia.

The soft spoken coach joined Olila High school in June this year after guiding She Corporate to the finals last season where they lost to eventual winners Kawempe Muslim.

Asked about the players he moved with to Olila at the start of the season, Ongodia said they will play at Olila until the end of first round and then move to other clubs.

Ongodia was in charge for only one game as Olila head coach losing 3-1 to Ajax Queens in Bulenga in the Fufa women elite league.

Reports indicate, he was not in charge as Olila defeated Gafford Ladies 2-0 over the weekend in Soroti.

Ongodia will now settle for North East regional team Bukedia Town Council where he also serves as head coach.
