Uganda Cranes continued preparations for the 2017 African cup of nations with another build up game against Uganda Premier League side, Bright stars on Monday at Nakivubo stadium.
The game ended in a one all draw with Derrick Nsibambi scoring for Cranes while Yubu Bogere levelled matters.
Derrick Nsibambi transited his scoring touch from KCCA where he netted a brace against Tusker and gave Cranes the lead tapping home Mohammed Shaban’s lay up.
However, Bogere levelled matters after a goal howler from goalkeeper Ismael Watenga.
The Vipers goalie tried to dribble past Bogere but he failed and the latter picked up the ball to finish into an empty net.
Head coach Milutin Sredojevic employed two lineups with only Ismael Watenga the only player maintained throughout the entire game.
Micho said he was impressed with the commitment and hard work from every player and he thinks the training has had a positive impact on the team.
“Initially we had planned this period for Cecafa but when it failed we shifted to camp and have build up games with local clubs,” he said.
“I believe we haven’t remained the same, the two games against Saints and Bright stars have added value to us,” Micho added.
About why they decided to play against 16 players, Micho indicated, he wants to prepare his team defensively whenever they are under pressure.
“It is one way of learning how to absorb pressure, we shall play against that attack right from start so we need to learn that in this build up games,” he said.
Uganda cranes will play another build up game against Vipers on Tuesday at Nakivubo before Micho names another provisional squad on Wednesday.
