Mutyaba Dropped as Micho Names Final 23-man Squad

Uganda cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic (Much)  has released the final 23 man squad that will play at the 2017 African cup of Nations.

Just moments, after the 2-0 loss to Tunisia, Micho has revealed his final squad dropping three players from the 26 that have been in camp in Tunisia.

Among those dropped include KCCA FC creative midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba who has been in sublime form at the Uganda premier league champions.

Mutyaba despite impressing in the loss against Tunisia has failed to make the grade.

The other two players dropped include goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan and Proline forward Edrisa Lubega.

The surprise name on the final squad is KCCA defender Timothy Awany who is one of the four centre backs on the team.

Onduparaka’s skipper Mohammad Shaban also made Micho’s final squad.

The team heads to Dubai, UAE on Thursday where they will camp and have two build up games against Slovakia and Ivory Coast on 8th and 11th January respectively.

Uganda is in group D alongside Ghana, Egypt and Mali.
