Cameroon coach Hugo Broos has avoided a potential club versus country row after choosing to sideline about seven players who had announced their unwillingness to feature for the team in the upcoming AFCON in Gabon.
Liverpool center back Joel Matip is among the stars who shun the team in order to maintain a place in their clubs.
Initial media reports indicated that the Cameroon FA had opted to report the players to FIFA for disciplinary actions but that is now buried after the Belgian coach revealed his final 23.
