The 2017 NRM Liberation cup tournament ended in a kerfuffle and no winner was named at the end of the 3 day competition.
Unlike in the past where games between SC Villa and Express would be abandoned due to crowd violence, this time round it was a different case.
The game played on Thursday at Nakivubo stadium ended in a 1-1 all draw with Nigerian Vincent Onyebuchi scoring for Express while Umar Kasumba levelled matters for SC Villa.
According to earlier communication, the team that accumulated the most points would go on to win the title and in this case it was Express who had 4 points but organiser Yusuf “Chuni” Kyeyune had last minute changes.
Kyeyune insisted Lweza who were the other participants were just a guest team and thus points earned off them did not matter.
Express had defeated Lweza 1-0 on Wednesday while SC Villa played to a 2-2 draw with the same opponent the previous day.
Express FC head coach Matia Lule protested the decision for the teams to take penalties to determine the winner and ordered his players off the pitch.
