Fufa club Licensing committee has Friday inspected Kakindu stadium to assess whether the facility meets the minimum standards to host the second round top flight matches.
The committee had earlier threatened to ban the stadium from hosting matches due to lack or dilapidated basic facilities like the toilets, changing rooms and state of the pitch.
On his visit, Dr. Ogwel, the committee chairman lauded the efforts by the three clubs- JMC Hippos, BUL FC and Kirinya- to renovate and fix the mess but urged them to increase the speed so as to finish on time before deadline.
“I am impressed with the efforts the teams have put to improve the standards of the pitch even though this ought to have been done long ago,” Ogwel told the Club officials.
“These facilities benefit you – the clubs and your players. Fufa is insisting on this because it’s what will build our brand and raise the level of professionalism in the country.”

JMC Hippos were represented by the Club chairman Mr. Faisal Muhammad, Secretary Mr. George Kirya and Team manager Mr. Helmi. Kirinya Jinja SSS CEO Mr. Mugabi was also present.
“I will make my report and present it to my committee for assessment,” he added.
Kirinya Jinja SSS FC requested to shift their home ground to Kakindu after Bugembe stadium management closed it for renovations.
