Proline 3-1 Onduparaka
Nelson Ssenkatuka put up an incredible performance to help Proline outwit Onduparaka in the game played at Phillip Omondi stadium on Wednesday.
The former KCCA FC forward laid up Gift Ali on the opener and later assisted David Owori for Proline’s second goal of the day before putting the icing on the cake with a classic finish to put the game beyond Onduparaka’s reach.
2016 FUFA male footballer of the year, Mohammad Shaban pulled one back from the spot kick at the death of the clock for Onduparaka’s consolation.
The visitors began the better side wreaking havoc to Proline’s backline and were awarded a penalty by centre referee Rajab Bakasambe in the 3rd minute after a trip on Shaban inside the forbidden area but Ceasar Okhuti failed to convert the resultant penalty.
From then onwards, ,the home side gained confidence and skipper of the day Gift Ali broke the deadlock with a thunderous effort just outside the area at the 14th minute mark to give Proline an early lead.
Towering defender Rashid Toha sustained an injury midway through the first half and was replaced by Simba Sibir. Despite several attempts to level matters, Proline’s defence line remained impenetrable and the team carried a goal lead at the break.
Mujib Kasule’s charges were even more lively after recess while Onduparaka seemed beaten by the artificial turf failing to play their free flowing game.
A quick inter change between David Owori and Ssenkatuka on the break caught Onduparaka’s backline flat footed and Owori who was making his debut doubled the lead for Proline.
Ssenkatuka also got his name on the score sheet with a calm finish curling the ball on the far end beyond goalkeeper Richard Anyama’s reach but Mohammad Shaban restored some pride for the visitors converting from the spot kick in added time.
The result moves Proline to 9th position on 19 points while Onduparaka remained 4th on the league table with 25 points.
