The Uganda Cranes are scheduled to play a warm up match against southern Africa side Zimbabwe ahead of their crucial encounter against Botswana in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the Cranes boss Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic said that “The friendly is expected to strengthen the team before facing Botswana.”
“We shall have a competitive build up match with Zimbabwe on May 31st in Harare before heading to Botswana for our crucial tie,” he added.
The Serbian coach also urged the country to put their weight and support the team while in the same time cautioning the players off complacency.
Uganda Cranes have seven points, joint with group D table leaders Burkina Faso who have a better head to head advantage. The Cranes face third placed Botswana Zebras on Saturday 4th June at the national Stadium in Gaborone.
The previous meeting between the two saw the Ugandans outclassing their opponents 2-0 with goals from Captain Geoffrey Massa and Brian Umony.
