Fufa Big League
Kiira United 2-1 Maroons FC

Maroons will have to wait for another day to return to Uganda Premier League after suffering defeat at the hands of Kiira Young in a thrilling encounter played at Kiira Municipality grounds on Thursday.

The prison warders came into the game needing just victory to seal qualification to the top tier league but their hopes were tainted with Kiira united who also locked in the promotion battle  winning 2-1 to move to second position six points behind Maroons in the Elgon group.

However, it was the visitors who took the lead at the half hour mark through Moses Sseluyidde’s well taken low free kick that went past goalkeeper Jamal Maliyamungu.

Kiira’s lead didn’t last long with Patrick Kaddu heading home Ronald Orombi’s free kick seven minutes later to level matter and the two sides went into the mandatory break at per.

Muhammed Ssenfuma made several changes after recess introducing Ssekitoleko Hakim,Christoher Kawagu and Najib Ssali and the changes paid off dividends with Ssali striking home in the 75th minute.
