Micho Names 23-Man Squad for French Military Duel

Uganda Cranes will end the Fifa International break with a friendly game against the French Military team.

Just fresh from a one all draw against Kenya on Thursday, the Cranes will now shift focus to take on a contingent of the French military team this Saturday at Mandela National stadium.

Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic “Micho” has summoned a squad of 23 players including 12 that played against Kenya.

All the players are locally based with Micho indicating he is making earlier preparations ahead of the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers that start in June.

Vipers FC have a lion’s share on the squad with 8 players including Erisa Ssekisambu who scored 5 goals yesterday as Vipers outwitted Kiboga Young in Uganda Cup.

The game will climax the week-long celebrations of marking the Francophone day and the French Embassy to Uganda are used football as one of the means to bolster the bilateral relations between Uganda and France.

Goalkeepers: Benjamin Ochan (KCCA), Isma Watenga (Vipers) and Saidi Keni (Proline)
