
Paul Mucurezi saved coach Mike Mutebi the blushes infront of travelling fans who graced the tense quarter final match between Bright stars and KCCA FC played at the Champions Stadium in Matugga.
The speedy left footed striker beat his markers to head in Jackson Nunda’s 65th minute free kick. Mucurezi was later on substituted seven minutes later with Emmanuel Magembe.
In Buikwe, Vipers SC overcame a resilient Hope Doves to book the semifinal berth and keep hopes of a silverware alive. Sekisambu continued with his goal scoring exploits with both goals in both halves.
The reigning Uganda cup MVP opened the scoring in the 38th minute connecting in Keziron Kizito’s feeble cross to give the league defending champions a lead to the break.
Sekisambu finished the business just at the restart of the second half with another simple of brushes from Mike Mutyaba’s free kick.
In the other quarter final played, Joseph Mutyaba’s Lweza FC suffered a shock but dramatic elimination going down 9-8 to Entebbe fc after penalty shootouts. The game ended in a four goal thrilling stalemate.
