KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi is as principled as the word comes and few if any thought the flamboyant tactician would come out to apologize.
However, Mutebi has come out to apologize for snubbing journalists on Friday ahead of the game against Al Masry in the Total CAF Confederation cup.
Like it has been the norm at KCCA FC this season, the manager was expected to brief journalists on the team news ahead of the game against Al Masry.
To the dismay of the journalists who had even to wait for an extra hour were shocked when Mutebi declined to talk to them.
Some of the furious journalists then organised a boycott against the manager after the game on Saturday walking away when Mutebi had started to address them.
However, the principled tactician has come out to apologize indicating it was not his intention to disrespect journalists but rather there was a bit of disorganization on their side as KCCA FC.
“It is not part of our essence to do that. It was not your problem as journalists but it was on our side. We apologize. We did not want to be disrespectful to journalists,” said Mutebi in a press briefing at Phillip Omondi stadium on Monday.
KCCA FC who defeated Egypt’s Al Masry on Saturday now shift focus to Uganda cup where they play against Kataka FC in Mbale on Tuesday in the round of 16 encounter.
