Express FC have been in scintillating form for the previous two months going seven games unbeaten in all competitions.
The red eagles despite having a tricky fixture in the last 10 days where they had to play arch rivals SC Villa and two games against URA FC, Express managed to get out heads high defeating Villa 1-0, eliminating URA in the Uganda cup and earned a point in the league encounter against the tax collectors.
The performance in the previous games has seen Matia Lule’s charges move up the log to 4th place on 37 points with seven games to the end of the season.
As they take on minnows Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) Hippos this Tuesday, the target will be aimed at maintaining the good run by earning maximum points.
JMC Hipppos are grounded at the rock bottom of the table with just a meager 10 points and their chances of beating the drop are faint.
Express head coach Matia Lule believes the teams have jelled together and their confidence levels have increased.
“We struggled a bit at the start of the second round because we had to incorporate new players into our system but the players have now settled in well,” hr stated.
Express welcome back the trio of Derrick Tekkwo, Yayo Lutimba and Sam Ssenkoomi who missed the two games against URA FC.
On the other hand, JMC Hippos will be without Walter Bankene who got sent off in the 2-1 loss to Saints.
The first leg meeting had ended in a 2-1 win for JMC Hippos but the result was nullified by the Uganda Premier League Secretariat because the Jinja based side used illegible players.
