Kirinya Jinja SS vs SC Villa
Kakindu stadium 4:30pm
The game between Kirinya Jinja SS football club and Sports Club Villa will have two teams with contrasting targets.
Kirinya are still locked in the relegation struggle and every game seems like a final while on the other hand, Sports club Villa are seeking to keep themselves in the title race.
As the two teams lock horns this Tuesday at Kakindu stadium, the encounter is expected to be a thrilling one.
Sports club Villa come into this game on the back of a 1-0 loss to arch rivals Express in the Kampala derby and will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways.
Kirinya on the other hand are unbeaten in their last three games winning two and drawing one to keep their survival hopes alive.
The school side defeated Vipers and Police at home and earned a point off Bright stars but still find themselves second from bottom.
However, should they defeat SC Villa today, Kirinya who have 24 points will move up to 11th on the log.
Victory for the Jogoos will mean they go four points clear at the top ahead of second placed KCCA FC who play URA FC on Wednesday.
Team news
Kirinya SS welcome back reliable defender Livingston Mulondo who has recovered in time for the clash.
Midfielder Frank Onene has also been passed fit after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko is confident that his team can go past SC Villa despite the pedigree.
“We are playing Villa a strong team in the league and by history and its a brand by name compared to us who are just new in the league. We should play like we are at home and like a team which wants points to stay in the league.” He said
Villa on the other hand welcome top scorer Emma Okwi who missed the game against Express with a shoulder injury but has fully recovered.
Wasswa Bossa the head coach indicates that they need to put the loss to Express at their back and focus on how they return to winning ways.
“We have forgotten about the loss. The focus now is to return to winning ways. It will not be an easy game because they are battling relegation but we are equally in need of the points,” Bossa stated.
The first leg meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-0 win for SC Villa at Nakivubo.
