A week ago, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) confirmed that Uganda Cranes will have a friendly game against Senegal as a buildup game before the African Cup of Nations qualifier game against Cape Verde.

On Wednesday, head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic went ahead to reveal that Uganda will have another test match against Ethiopia as one of the preparation programmes before taking on Cape Verde.

“I met my good friend Aliou Cisse, the Senegalese coach and was positive about Uganda playing against Senegal. Ethiopia have also availed us the chance to have a trial match against them which I think is important to us,” Micho said.

“Ethiopia is a good team and majority of the players come from their league which is competitive and they will be a good test for us ahead of the Cape Verde game,” he added

According to Micho preparations will start as early as 20th May with non-residential training at Phillip Omondi stadium especially for the locally based players.

“We shall begin with non-residential training on 20th up to about 28th with locally based players but with the exception of KCCA FC players who have to play on the continent and players from the teams that would have reached the Uganda cup finals,” he stated.

The team will then have a week long residential training before connecting to Adis Ababa, Ethiopia with the game expected to be played on 3rd June.

3 days later, Uganda Cranes will play against Senegal in Dakar before heading to Cape Verde Island for the first group F game of the 2019 African Cup of Nations on 10th June.

Uganda is in group L alongside Cape Verde, Lesotho and Tanzania.
