
Allan Kayiwa and Tony Odur struck in the second half to give Express FC a memorable comeback against Kawempe based Bright Stars FC.
Anthony Bongole pounced on a failed clearance in the Express FC goal area to give the stars hope of a maiden win at Wankulukuku stadium.
Ibrahim Kayiwa restored parity five minutes after the break from veteran Vincent Kayizzi’s craft work.
Kayizzi was close to a second in the 83rd minute but was brought down in the area prompting the referee to point at the spot. Tony Odur stepped up and converted the penalty for his king goal of the season.
The win pushes Express to the second position with 48 points, four behind leaders KCCA FC though the Red Eagles have a game at hand.
The Eagles are two points ahead of defending champions Vipers SC who happen to be their next opponents. They are yet to play SC Villa and KCCA FC among their pending matches.
Bright Stars slump to 10th after garnering 34 points meaning they can’t finish in the top five pack with only two games to play.

Tony Odur climbs to the fourth most lethal striker in the league with nine goals, six below leading scorer Robert Ssentongo(15). Erisa Sekisambu is second best with 14 goals, three above former Express striker Caesar Okhuti.
