Kirinya Jinja SS FC put up a show to remember outclassing Masavu FC 2-0 in Jinja to pile pressure on Rwenzori, group leaders Proline FC going into the final games of the Fufa big league season.
The ‘students’ overwhelmed their visitors from the first whistle making seven shots on target in the first five opening minutes.
Musa Magumba opened the chart with his sixth of the season in the seventh minute with a clever strike after perfectly controlling Allan Drajua’s hard shot from the left.
The attacker cooled the ball to zero before slotting to the top left corner with the whole defense falling the opposite side of the slippery goal area.
The hosts kept on pressing for the second goal but Macumba and Joel Madondo’s twin strikes in the 25th minute were punched off by the keeper.
Masavu’s first closest chance presented at the half hour with Bakilanze sending in a mid-range pile driver but hit Drajua and the low post and back into play.
Debbo initiated a speedy counter down the left through to Magumba and Mark in the midfield however the breaking pass to Magumba was intercepted by Livingstone Kawuma and fouling the striker in the process.
Abubakar Otwao fired in the freekick from over 40 yards for the second.
The win lifts Jinja SS to 49 points, one below Proline with both playing relegation bound sides Wandegeya and Kasese New Villa respectively.
