Just in: KCCA FC Chairman Resigns

Kampala Capital City Authority  Football Club(KCCA FC) chairman Julius Raymond Kabugo has stepped down.

Kabugo has officially resigned on Thursday from the position he has held for two years.

In a letter dated 13th July 2017, Kabugo tendered in his resignation without clear reasons stated.

“It is with great humility that I notify you on my resignation from the position of chairman of KCCA FC with effect from 1st August 2017,” reads the statement.

“It has been a great honour and privilege for me and my family to leadthe the biggest club in Uganda for the past two years,” Kabugo states further in the statement.

He went ahead to thank the KCCA executive director, Jenifer Musisi Semakula and the Lord Mayor forgiving him the opportunity to serve in the team in that capacity.

Kabugo has been at the forefront of change KCCA FC into a model and professional club bringing several changes.

Among the chances include, a proper club Secretariat, technical staff and communication.

in his tenure, the Lugogo based side has attracted several sponsors including Star times, Britam and Prime Media increasing the team’s revenue.

He has also won several trophies including two league titles, a Uganda Cup title and reaching the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup among others.

A few weeks ago, the club CEO, David Tamale was disguising elevated to the post of assistant chairman but reports indicate he was fired.
